Letter from Our CEO
Dear Practitioner:

One of the major problems facing the small and medium-size practitioner is proper staffing, especially during the tax season. With fewer accounting graduates and the difficulty in finding and retaining qualified help, staffing has become a major concern for accounting firms. Adding to the burden is the fact that 40–50% of annual accounting work is encapsulated into 3 1/2 months.

One solution that many firms are embracing is outsourcing — because it saves time, cuts costs and opens up opportunities for more productive and lucrative engagements.

However, many firms are justifiably concerned about security and the confidentiality of sensitive client data. It is because of these concerns that we decided to offer this needed professional service. Only an organization with a history and reputation for quality could provide a trustworthy outsourcing alternative with a high comfort level.

With many companies offering outsourcing opportunities, how can you satisfy yourself regarding their competence, practices and procedures? Relying on extravagant claims on fancy Websites can be dangerous. You must know the credentials of the people behind these façades.

We started serving the profession almost 40 years ago when we founded The Practical Accountant, followed shortly thereafter by Accounting Technology and then a myriad of other services and products for the small and medium-size firm. Accounting professionals have learned to rely on us over the decades to provide best-of-breed accounting services.

We are now devoting ourselves to helping accountants outsource their work, thus providing the profession with another valuable practice management tool.

Sincerely,

Robert A. Behren
President and CEO

“I have known and worked with Bob Behren for over 30 years as he created numerous accounting publications and products, all of which were very successful. He is the most innovative and creative mind in the profession, having a vision that can move the profession forward and break new ground for accounting practice. In short, he is the ultimate winner when it comes to understanding and meeting the needs of the accounting profession, particularly small and medium-size firms, sometimes even before the profession is aware of these needs!”
